The Glenorchy RSEA Magpies are delighted to announce Daryl Potter as the club’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Mr Potter’s appointment comes after a highly-competitive process that drew a number of well-credentialed candidates, and President John McCann is confident the new CEO can help take the club’s business operations to a new level.

“Following Daryl's successful hospitality background, he has now cemented his professional sports management capabilities focusing on large-scale club operations across the past decade,” Mr McCann said.

“Daryl has progressed from a high-level project manager to an astute industry leader, and we look forward to him growing our standing as a sporting and community hub of our Northern Heartland.”

Most recently the General Manager of the Royal Hobart Yacht Club, Mr Potter is an experienced senior executive with expansive hospitality, club and sports administration expertise spanning more than 30 years across South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania.

On a personal note, Daryl was involved in his younger years in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) where he played with the South Adelaide Football Club.

Mr Potter takes over the reins from former CEO Mark Chivers, who retired prior to Christmas.

“We thank Mark for his work helping to guide our club through a very challenging COVID year in 2020, and helping ensure our club remained in a sound financial position,” Mr McCann said.

“We welcome Daryl and his family to the ‘Nest’ and we look forward to a very exciting period in the club’s development under his watch.”

Mr Potter commences with the Club on Monday 15 February.
