AFL Tasmania's decision to cease operating the TSLW

The Clarence, Glenorchy and Launceston Football Clubs are strongly committed to maintaining high-level women's football in Tasmania.
Following AFL Tasmania's decision to cease operating the Tasmanian State League Women (TSLW), our three clubs are now investigating all options to maintain a high-level women's competition, both on an interim basis for 2021 and a sustainable long-term basis beyond.
Leigh McAdam - 2020 Danny Ling Medalist

A long-time club contributor has been rewarded for a remarkably selfless 2020 with the prestigious Danny Ling Medal as the Glenorchy District Football Club's best clubman.
When the community called out for help during the initial stages of COVID, the club answered emphatically, and Leigh McAdam was an enormous part of that response.
Leigh stepped up to pack food hampers at Foodbank Tasmania, deliver food parcels for the West Moonah Community Centre and then added to his huge contributions by also doing food deliveries for the Migrant Resource Centre, who are located at KGV.
Bowden calls time on TSL career

After 243 games and 547 goals as a Magpie, one of Glenorchy’s greatest, Jaye Bowden, is calling time on his illustrious state league career.
Bowden arrived at KGV from Brighton juniors as a 15 year-old, and debuted in the senior team as a defender in 2006 aged 17.
Of course, he would go on to make his name as a damaging midfielder and prolific goal-kicker, becoming just the second Glenorchy player – after Peter Hudson – to kick 500 career goals in Round 3 last season, when he booted six goals in a 62-point win over Clarence at Bellerive.
New Northern Heartland community partnership

While footy has now taken the spotlight, the Northern Heartland Community Project continues behind the scenes.
In term 3, we have formed a partnership with New Town High School, where students accompany our club coach Paul Kennedy to the Foodbank to gain valuable life experience.
