One of the TSL’s deadliest players, and one of the competition’s forgotten stars, have re-signed with Glenorchy for the next two years as momentum continues to build for season 2020.

Callen Daly was the TSL’s most dangerous small forward in 2018 but went under the radar, however this year he made the competition sit up and take notice with a blistering season.

Daly nailed 27 goals while splitting time between the midfield and forward line, with many of those majors the equal of what Eddie Betts or Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti produce on the AFL stage.

Daly didn’t have to think long before re-committing to the Magpies.

“I love the club, love the team, love the guys, love the coach,” he said.

“I’m really excited that we’ve still got a great list. We’ve got unfinished business. I’m determined to get success, we all are, I’m craving it actually.”

Cal Daly's amazing snap - St Albi Tasty Play of the Day

How good is Callen Daly? Well, we're lost for words after this goal, so you'll just have to watch for yourself. Safe to say he gets the St. Albi Tasty Play of the Day! There were plenty of other heroics on Saturday as the Magpies booted the final eight goals of the game to roll to victory. The delight of Daly’s re-signing was doubled by premiership Pie and unassuming club legend Matt Dilger also committing for the next two seasons.

Dilger was a key man in the group that claimed the 2016 TSL flag, his uncompromising football earning him respect across the competition.

For the first time in his career, ‘Dilgs’ signed a multi-year deal, excited by the position the club is in to reclaim the title from arch-rivals North Launceston.

“I still remember that feeling when we beat North Launy in 2016, I just want to feel that again with this group of blokes,” he said, keen to put two injury-ravaged years behind him.

“I just want to be fit, I just want to be on the park and I just want to be doing my job for the team to help us win.”
