After going through season 2020 without recording a win, the RSEA Magpie youngsters have completed an incredible rebound, winning nine games to claim fourth place on the development league ladder.
That achievement now sees them travel to Invermay Park this Saturday to take on North Launceston at 10am for a place in the Preliminary Final.
The achievement is made all the more remarkable by the fact the club's injury curse resulted in 68 different players representing the development team in 2021.
Add to that the progression of eight standouts from previous years development team or U18s - Isaac Manson, Riley Oakley, Luke Nicholson, Josh Meredith, Josh Whitford, Braidy Simpson, Braydon Patterson and Dominic Brown - to become regular senior players.
In their place, a new crop of exciting youngsters have emerged, with the likes of Cooper Hills, Jude Saavedra, Jordy Green, Tyson Stacey, Dylan Browning, Liam Roach, Ty Turner, Zach Evans-Fenton and Zayden Kelly all showing huge improvement.
They are joined in the finals by talent like Matthew Joseph, Cooper Meredith, Bayley Bester, Richie Dilger, Simpson, Manson, Whitford and Brown, and the team will head north full of confidence they can topple the extremely talented Bombers.
