Senior Player Number: 1105
A lightly framed youngster emerged from Under-age level showing loads of potential, and played his first senior game in 2006. But, not before a premiership in the Under 13’s in 2000, and development in Under 19s with another premiership in 2005 at just 15 ½ years of age.
2006 A third premiership arrived in the Reserves at 16 ½ years of age.
In the same year he represented the State as Captain in the All Australian Under 18’s.
2007 & ’08 the premierships kept rolling in, with two on the trot, both in the SFL, the first under coach, David Newett and the second under Michael Bowden.
During the same time he played 22 games with the VFL Devils side.
2008 Aaron was drafted to the Brisbane Lions at pick No. 57.
2009 -2013 played 25 games and was a member of the Lions 2013 NAB Cup Senior Premiership. Over the course of the same period he also played 96 games in the NEAFL competition kicking 375 goals, and played in the 2012 & 2013 NEAFL Premierships and was Captain in 2013.
2014 Returned to Glenorchy as Senior Coach at the age of 24. He the Hudson Medal for Leading Goal Kicker and ‘Team of the Year’ member.
2015 to 2017 he continued as Non Playing Coach, winning the State League Premiership in ’16 and was ‘Coach of the Year’ in both 2016 & ’17
Aaron returned to Queensland and following a stint as Assistant Coach with the South Port Sharks, he moved to Melbourne for a similar position with the Box Hill Hawks. |
