League: Tasmanian State League Year: 2021 - Round 12 Date: 19 June 2021 Ground: King George V Oval Glenorchy 5.4.34 lost to Launceston 22.15.147
Game Notes:
Adam Roberts has produced a pressure performance for the ages in the RSEA Magpies' Round 12 loss to the league-leading Launceston Blues.
The game was a physical affair but the Blues showed their power and class in a string of dominant bursts through the game to run out easy winners.
The most notable was six goals in 14 minutes to finish the second term and blow open the game.
For much of the contest, however, the young Glenorchy side made the game a high-pressure affair, with Roberts providing tireless heat around the ball throughout.
He finished the game with 15 pressure acts, 9 chasedown efforts, 8 tackles, 7 turnovers forced, 2 intercept marks and a smother in a remarkable performance.
On top of that, he racked up 16 possessions, 4 marks and 2 goals in perhaps his best game of TSL footy.
He had great defensive support from Darrean Wyatt, who smashed away 8 spoils and took 4 intercept marks, doing a strong job on Blues star goal-kicker Dylan Riley while also collecting 31 touches.
Midfielder Ben Kamaric picked up 31 disposals to go with 13 pressure acts and 10 clearances, while John Geard had 20 possessions and 13 pressure acts, including 7 tackles.
A number of youngsters also stepped up in the area of pressure acts, including Callum Thompson (10), Cooper Meredith (8), Luke Nicholson (8) and Riley Oakley (8). |
