The Magpie youngsters took another exciting step forward on ANZAC Day, claiming their second straight win after failing to register a victory in the COVID-interupted 2020.

The Pies were the better team in the opening term and took a 14-point edge into the main break, but it was the second term with the wind at their backs that Sam Hall's men made their move.

With Matt Dilger, Riley Best, Cooper Hills and Josh Whitford running rampant, the development team booted 5 goals to 1 to put the result beyond doubt at the main break.

Dilger was the story of the day in his first game since early last season, booting 3 goals in a half to suggest he isn't far away from a return to senior football.

His brother Richie also showed quality signs as he recovers from an off-season injury, while Dom Brown was outstanding down back to continue his consistent form.
