The RSEA Magpies produced a performance for the ages to thrash Clarence by 67 points and storm into the SFLW grand final at North Hobart Oval next Saturday.

It has been a challenging year for our women's team after the AFL decided not to offer Tasmania's best female players a state league to play in, but they have made the most of this unfortunate situation and are now poised to make history.

The qualifying final against arch-rivals Clarence was tipped to be a tight affair - the previous encounter at KGV was won by the Pies in the final minutes - but the Glenorchy girls produced a performance for the ages. 

Pressure Pies
Swarming the Roos around the contest with relentless pressure and tough ball-winning, the home side squandered a chance to put the contest to bed in the opening half, booting 2.10 while holding Clarence scoreless.

That trend continued early in the third term, but two goals extended the margin to 36 points at the final break, before the Magpies firmly put the foot to the floor.

Having worn the Roos into the ground with their constant pressure, the Pies booted 5.3 to 0.2 in the final stanza, keeping Clarence goalless for the day to make a mockery of the teams'usually tense rivalry.

Tarn Ford was electric up forward, booting 4 goals to show her knee injury is now behind her.

Georgia Clark continued her dominant form in the ruck, while the running brigade of Joni Ransley, Brie Barwick, Brooke Barwick and Angelica Clark dominated the ground-level battle.
