Game Notes:
It was smiles for miles for our girls after yet another impressive win over the Demons last Friday night under lights at North Hobart Oval.
Power Ruck, Ellie Fleming, dominated all day winning her hit outs 50-6, providing fantastic first use of the ball for our Mid-fielders. Ellie is a first-year player and her transition from netball to football has been outstanding.
Brooke Barwick was closely tagged but in her usual style, stepped up and managed to take control through the midfield providing strong paths through the play.Georgie Clark had an outstanding 2nd half through the midfield, clocking up over 10kms on her GPS tracker.
Lola Johnson was given the massive task of matching up on Elise Barwick. Lola stepped up to role and challenged Elise all day. Mackie Sutcliffe, as always, was exceptional throughout the midfield and down back sharing her rotations with new player, Ash Guest.
Ash Guest has come into the side smoothly and not only played extremely well, but also provided excellent leadership and guidance to the entire playing group. Ash’s experience and knowledge is an invaluable addition into the squad and we are very excited to what Ash will bring to not only our team, but to our club. Welcome Ash!
Molly Mitchell’s strong contest in the forward line was impressive all day. Molly continues to dominate in the forward line and is having an exceptional season so far.
Zoe Crawford’s experienced leadership enabled Rhianna Davis and Ella Wagner to set up a strong well communicated backline.
Our Senior Women continue to show massive strength and improvement week in, week out. It’s been an exciting season so far and we can’t wait to see what the back end of the season brings for the team. |
